  • Cook the Shrimp: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
  • Sauté the Garlic: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but be careful not to burn it.
  • Make the Creamy Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine with the butter and garlic. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  • Combine the Shrimp and Sauce: Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and toss gently in the creamy sauce to coat. If using red pepper flakes, add them now for a little heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the shrimp simmer in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  • Serve and Garnish: Serve the creamy garlic shrimp immediately, garnished with freshly chopped parsley for color and freshness.
